Like many, we recognize that animal agriculture has come a long way, but there is still room for improvement. In 2021, we took a leap of faith and launched Moral Eats, determined to create a positive impact in the farming industry.

Starting with your average commercial dairy farm, we initiated the changes we wanted to see in the world. Today, our dairy farm is preparing to be the first dairy farm in Ontario to provide milk from cows that raise their own calves (not available yet), our grass-fed beef allows our dairy bull calves to live to be 2 years old on pasture, our pastured turkeys follow behind our beef herd just like birds naturally would, our pastured pork get to root in the dirt, and our wild seafood is sourced from fisheries that are committed to sustainability.

Our Founder
Sander has always been passionate about animals. He went to the University of Guelph with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, but in 2010, he changed his mind. He came home to the family dairy farm instead, because he realized he would be able to spend more time working with animals as a farmer. They built a new dairy facility in 2014 centered around cow comfort. The cows' health improved and they quickly became one of the top managed herds in Wellington county. After a health scare had him questioning his priorities, the healthcare system and the way he farmed, he started looking for ways to improve the lives of his animals. Unfortunately, there was no market for it, which led to the idea for "Moral Eats". He decided to start the company that would source and deliver moral animal products. Using supply and demand is so powerful, because for a solution to improving the welfare of farm animals to be sustainable, it must be profitable.
